House Sitters

So you're interested in living rent-free by looking after other peoples homes while they are away. You’re a reliable, trustworthy person then why not consider becoming an Angel Housesitter.
 

Some of the reasons why people become Housesitters are:
 

 

  • Rent-free accommodation.
  • To save money.
  • To solve short-term accommodation problems at times such as when building a new house.


The duration a housesit can range from 1 week to 12 months when people take their holidays and from time to time can even be of a longer duration.

If you are interested in becoming a Housesitter please either contact us or compete the sitter application form to register. Some of the requirements for becoming a Housesitter are set out below:

1. Fill in a sitter application form to register.
2. Obtain and provide a current Police Clearance Certificate.
3. Attend an interview with an Angel Housesitters consultant.
4. Provide formal satisfactory photographic identification.
5. Contracts are signed and a bond required.

If you are accepted as Angel Housesitter you will be:

1. Placed on our register of Housesitters.
2. Contacted when a suitable housesitting match is made.
3. You will meet with the homeowners to view the property and go over the housesit requirements.
4. Move into the home on the day of the homeowner’s departure.
5. An Angel Housesitters consultant will be in touch with you during the sit to ensure that all is well (newly registered sitters will be regularly checked).

Sitter Responsibilities
 

  • Should you encounter any problems during the housesit you must contact Angel Housesitting. This contact can be made 24 hours each day. Prompt contact is encouraged, especially in emergencies.
  • Treat the property with care and respect (both inside and outside).
  • You must complete basic maintenance requirements as agreed with the homeowner. These requirements will normally cover maintenance of gardens, pools etc.
  • Clean up both your own mess and that of any visitors that you have during the sit.
  • The number of visitors that you are permitted at any one time is agreed with the homeowner at the time of initial interview.
  • Absolutely no parties are allowed.
  • No children or pets are allowed on an Angel Housesitting clients' property without prior agreement by that client.
  • You will be responsible for looking after the property and any pets as agreed with the home wner at the time of initial interview.
  • You must provide all of your own food (and any of the owners used {unless by prior agreement} must be replaced).
  • Unless you are on shift work, be in the house between 12 midnight and 6am the next morning.
  • You must keep a record of all telephone calls (both incoming and outgoing) and pay for your own calls made.
  • Pay all excess utility expenses that you created during the housesit.
  • The property is to be left clean and tidy at the end of a housesit.
  • It is Angel Housesitter's strict policy that a No Smoking rule applies to all homes unless otherwise agreed with the homeowner
